PopKiller is little tool allowing the eradication
of two different items :
the popup window which pullulates on Internet.
the SPAM emails (identified by an expeditor, a subject, an URL or
a keyword)
Its use is very simple:
for popup windows : as soon as you see appearing an undesirable
window, it is enough for you to display the windows list and to select
it. As long as popup windows killer option is active, this window
will be systematically closed.
for emails : as soon as you receive an undesirable email, it is
enough for you to select it's expeditor, it's subject, an URL on his
body or just a keyword. As long as SPAM message killer option is active,
all similar emails will be systematically deleted on email server.
Moreover, PopKiller include; for each item (popup
& SPAM) :
a counter of items destroyed
the possibility to play a sound file (WAV) as soon
as an item is destroyed
the possibility to define the interval between two checks
Popkiller also integrates :
an email notification
system allowing new emails partial or full (including MIME or HTML) display. Popkiller can manage an infinite number of mailboxes
compatible with POP3 protocol.
It's possible
to play a sound file (WAV) and/or a video file (AVI) when new emails
arrived.
a mechanism allowing an automatic connection to Internet, either before each mailboxes checking, or in a permanent way. In this last case, it's possible to play a sound file (WAV) when the connection is restored
a bandwidth monitoring function in download and upload
You can also choose the language to be used (French
or English)

Compatibility
This software was tested on Windows XP and Windows 2000.
It should also function without problem on Windows 9x and Windows NT.
The compatibility with Windows VISTA is not complete for now.

Manual installation
Unzip the ZIP file content (without setup software) on a folder of your choice.
If you have already installed a previous issue of Popkiller, you just need to replace the old application file (POPKILLER.EXE) by the new one, then do the same for the resource files with ENU and FRA extension.
Manual uninstallation
Delete files installed or created by the software (name begins with POPKILLER) and the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PopKiller (with regedit Windows editor).
